I have a certificate in violin and viola from the New England Conservatory of Music (1980), and a Bachelor's in Music. I have been teaching both privately and in public schools since 1986.
I teach all ages and all styles, but specialize in Celtic, Bluegrass (country), Klezmer and Roots music styles.
Lessons are fun and informative. We learn theory, skills and how to read. Advanced players learn ornamentation, stylistic performance and improvisation.
Group lessons are also available.

Reviews By Joanne Silver from Amherst, MA Posted Jun 16, 2009 Mr Sweet is an amazing teacher. So patient, so willing to find ways to teach, so helpful, so giving of his time! We love going to lessons because Marcy always sings on the way back, and goes right to practicing her violin.
