I teach all ages from 6 years and above. I have been teaching for over 22 years. My goal is to work with you in encouraging your talent and love of music, and give you the tools and skills to express your unique musical voice. My specialty is teaching to play by ear, and/or improvisation in the style you'd like to play, from blues to New Age, rock, pop, jazz, any popular style; or playing to accompany yourself singing or someone else, playing chords from sheet music, and basic technique. You can learn to play your favorite songs, by ear and/or reading chords from sheet music. I can also teach beginning sight reading, basic technique and theory that any traditional classical teacher might teach. I believe that many people are not necessarily cut out to learn to only play music that's on the printed page, which can be confining and limit freedom and creativity. There are simple methods of technique and theory that lay the ground work to play freely in a way that expresses your spirit and creativity and can be really fun and fulfilling. I also teach basic vocal technique and coaching if you want to sing and play.
